What does a wedding at STAY cost?

The most common question we are asked, and the one most venues answer with "it depends," deserves a straight reply. Here is how the cost of a wedding at STAY is built, in real figures, so you can plan with confidence.
Venue hire
STAY's venue hire is charged per day, by the day of the week, within season bands that run from 1 October to 30 September. For the 2026 band the figures are, ex VAT:
- Monday to Thursday, and Sunday: R58 000
- Friday, or the day before a public holiday: R63 000
- Saturday, or a public holiday: R68 000
The rate rises modestly across the 2027 and 2028 bands. Venue hire gives you exclusive use of the estate for the day: the ceremony area beneath the open sky, the canapé and lounge spaces, and the white reception hall.
Catering, per person
Menus at STAY are designed from scratch with executive chef Andrew Draper, a former South African Chef of the Year and Culinary Olympics gold medallist. There is no set menu. Catering is quoted per person, across three packages in the 2026 band:
- STAY with us: R1 250 per person
- STAY a while: R1 450 per person
- STAY Forever: R1 650 per person
All figures are ex VAT. Your final catering total is simply the package rate multiplied by your guest count.
Accommodation, per night
Because fifty-two guests can sleep on the estate, many couples turn a single day into a weekend. Per-night rates in the 2026 band are R2 600 for a STAY Suite, R3 500 for a Luxury Pool Villa, R4 500 for the Grand Lunar Suite, and R8 000 for the Dusk and Dawn Suites.
The line that gives back
R1 000 of every venue hire is invested into a community and charity sustainability fund. It is a small figure on the invoice and a deliberate one: every celebration at STAY leaves something behind for the land and the people around it.
