A thousand rand of every wedding, given back
R1 000 of your venue hire is invested into an account used for community outreach, community improvement projects and charities in need. Sustainability is not a feature at STAY — it is the foundation the venue is built upon.
The Planet
Four commitments
Solar
STAY runs one hundred percent on solar power as its primary electricity source. A backup generator is used only where there is no alternative, ensuring uninterrupted power for your wedding or event.
Water
Rainwater is captured through an extensive network of pipes and gutters for irrigation and the maintenance of the pools and water features. Greywater is captured across the venue and treated through a state-of-the-art plant to irrigate the gardens and grasslands.
Reduce, Re-use & Recycle
From our composting plant to our recycling centre, all glass, aluminium cans, plastic, cardboard and paper are recycled. We do not only believe in it — we live by it.
Reforestation
The original planting at STAY encompasses two thousand indigenous trees and the rehabilitation of the natural grasslands, bringing back the birds, insects, bees and animals. Across both properties, the group has been responsible for planting four and a half thousand trees.
The founders believe the planting of trees is not only a way to reduce carbon, but a vital responsibility of all citizens.
